Ooops…

Well, good thing I am taking it easy on my workout. I got busy yesterday and didn't get to do my routine for the day. I will do it on my light/ rest day. Really I could miss it, but since this is all new, I want to see the trouble I am getting myself into.

Read on some forum that low fat chocolate milk makes a good recovery drink. Plus at .25 per serving, compared to $1.17 for GNC powder drink, makes it cost effective.

Chocolate and carmel mini rice cakes. Great for the munches! You get to eat 12 per serving. Drink a glass of water and you are good to go until your next meal.

BEER TALK
Uped my lager yeast starter to a full gallon yesterday. Had to put it in a sun tea jar because it holds 1 gallon and the bottom is flat enough for my stir bar to spin.

I made a device that has a dimmer switch, to slow or speed up the rpm's. There is a computer fan inside this box that has rare earth magnets, VERY strong magnets, attached to the fan. There is a cover for my vessel to sit upon and when I plug it in and turn on the power, the fan spins and attracting the Teflon coated stir bar, spins as well. It helps keep the yeast in suspension and give oxygen for the yeast cells to multiple Which I need a lot for my lager.

I woke up this morning and the stir bar had spun off and was just sitting there. I was upset, but it turned out to be a good thing. I forgot to put some foam control in the wort, to keep the foam or krausen, from pushing up and out of the container taking my yeast with it. So, I put a few drops in, got the stir bar recentered and off it went. It also helps knock the CO2 out of solution which is bad for the yeast. I will let that go until Friday. At that point, I will take it off the stir plate and put the jug in the fridge. That will make the yeast clump together. I will pour the liquid off and have a nice yeast slurry.

I have a hoppy beer chilling at 30*. Trying to drop the yeast out. Tonight I will transfer that beer into another glass carboy and add 1 1/2 ounces of Centennial hops. Do this is called dry hoping . It will add hop flavor and aroma. I will leave that for 7 days, put it in a corny keg, soda pop keg. Add CO2 and drink.
